Citizens from Charleston County Urge Brantley Moody to Run For Charleston County Council

Charleston, South Carolina – February 1, 2016 -A growing grassroots movement is encouraging West Ashley resident and businessman Brantley Moody to run for Charleston County Council representing District 7 -West of the Ashley.

Charleston City Councilman Keith Waring says that “We need a respected and open-minded business professional who understands all the issues, someone who understands the need for good public schools, growing our economy while creating good paying jobs and who will represent all the people West of the Ashley. That person is Brantley Moody.”

Mr. Moody has been a commercial banker for 20 years in the Charleston area. He grew up in West Ashley and graduated from Middleton High School. Moody earned a double major in Finance and Real Estate from the University of South Carolina, and has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from The Citadel.

“As a former member of Charleston County Council and someone who cut spending by more than $19 million, we need someone who will watch the bottom line. Brantley Moody has the experience of managing hundreds of millions of dollars as a commercial banker. The citizens of West Ashley need someone with integrity,” said Senator Paul Thurmond.

A small group of business people and community leaders from across Charleston County have joined this movement and are now encouraging others to contact Brantley and ask him to serve the citizens of Charleston County-particularly those West of the Ashley. We would encourage those wishing to express their support for Brantley for Charleston County Council to email him at
